Marie Schlag, owner/conservator, earned her MS degree in Historic Textiles and Costume Conservation from the University of Rhode Island, Department of Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design, and her BS in Textiles and Clothing, from Lehman College, The City University of New York, Department of Family and Consumer Studies. She interned at the Preservation Society of Newport County, Newport, Rhode Island.

Ms. Schlag is an associate member of The American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) and also a member of its Textile Specialty Group and  Conservators in Private Practice Group.

She is also a member of the New England Museum Association and the Costume Society of America where she serves as a  Committee Member for its National Angels Project. 

As a conservator in private practice, Ms. Schlag is available as a consultant to museums, historical societies, and private clients assisting with costume and textile conservation, collection management, exhibition, and public and staff workshops.
